May discount ang mga PWD sa online transactions.
Ito ang nakasaad sa Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, s. 2022 na inisyu iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno, ang “Guidelines on the Provision of Mandatory Statutory Benefits and Privileges of the Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities on their Purchases Through Online (E-Commerce) and Phone calls/SMS”-
- a) National Commission for Disability Affairs
- b) National Commission of Senior Citizens
- c) Department of Health
- d) Department of Social Welfare and Development
- e) Department of Trade and Industry
- f) Department of Interior and Local Government
- g) Bureau of Internal Revenue
Pinaalala sa business establishments na kailangang mag-comply sa batas at bigyan ng discounts ang covered goods and services for Senior Citizens and PWDs-
Kahit na ito ay in-avail sa digital o online platforms.
Kasama dito ang 20% discount for medicines, transportation, at pagkain; at 5% discount sa basic necessities.
Ang provider ng goods or services, pwedeng ire-configure ang kanilang business and delivery system, website, o application, para ma-avail ng seniors at PWDs ang discounts.
Halimbawa- pwede nilang ipag-send ng ID o kaya naman ay mag-provide sila ng discount vouchers o codes.
Kung wala silang ganitong mekanismo- dapat mag-provide ng alternative manual procedures para ma-avail ang nararapat na discounts.
Noong July 25, 2023- in-issue rin ang BIR Revenue Regulation No. 8-2023 – na nagkaklarong for online or mobile platforms, hindi kailangan ng pirma ng sa resibo, para maibigay ang discount.
Kailangan lang, ready i-present ang Senior Citizen o PWD ID at ibigay ID Number.
To avail of the discount, i-contact ang help center ng online o mobile platform na ginagamit mo, at alamin ang sistema nila para rito.
Kung walang discpoutn, o tumanggi sila na ibigay sa inyo- pwede itong ireklamo sa Office of Senior Citizens’ Affairs (OSCA) o Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) sa inyong LGU.
